Good afternoon, it’s Monday, March 7, 2011 at Twelve o’clock and you’re listening to 90.3 WKNJ-FM,

Union, New Jersey, and I’m Wayne with the news.

In Local News…

There was a fire on Linden Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey at the Cenveo Envelope Company at around 7:48 am. Firefighters arrived at 7:52 am only to see the fire was started by some of the machines inside the building. All residents living around the area of the burning building were asked to evacuate the area in the event of the fire spreading.
Heavy overnight rain has caused many floods in Hillsdale, New Jersey Firefighters evacuated about 20 people by having them climb into a 10-by-four-foot basket connected to a bucket loader that transported them to safety after several basements were flooded. The following roads are blocked off due to flooding.

NJ 36 Southbound, Laurel Ave, (MM21.0) , Hazlet Twp., jug handle closed 
NJ 36 Southbound, South of Leonard Av, (MM16.1) , Middletown Twp., 1 lane may be closed 
• Morris
NJ 23 Southbound, CR 660/Newark Pompton Turnpike, (MM11.9), Pequannock Twp., all lanes closed 
• Passaic
NJ 23 Northbound, North of US 202, (MM9.4), Wayne Twp., all lanes closed 
Hamburg Turnpike at Terhune Drive closed, Wayne, due to water from Pompton Falls hitting deck of the bridge
• Sussex
NJ 23 Northbound, Holly Trail, (MM29.0) , Hardyston Twp., all lanes open to traffic

• Warren
NJ 182 Northbound, Shelly Av, (MM0.2) , Hackettstown, right lane closed

In National News…
The New England area was hit with another huge snow storm, this time they storm dumped two feet of snow. As of 1 p.m., 23.3 inches of snow had fallen at Burlington International Airport, the biggest March snowfall there on record and it wasn't finished yet. This snow storm helped to push the winter of 2010-2011 up the record list.


One of the world’s most active volcanoes has erupted again, Kilauea volcano sent lava 65 feet in the air. There were also about 150 small earthquakes were recorded within Kilauea in the past 24 hours. Kilauea has been in constant eruption since Jan. 3, 1983.


In International News…
Oil Prices have jumped $107 in the past week due to the continuous fighting in Libya. The intense fighting between Libyan government forces and rebels appeared to be turning into a civil war and raised the prospect of a prolonged cut in crude exports from the OPEC nation.

Today’s weather is going to be sunny and windy with a high of 47.

In Sports News…
The NFL and NFLPA resume their Collective Bargaining Agreement talks after extending the deadline a week from its original March 4th date.
The Miami Heat have received their fourth come-from-behind loss this season, Last Night’s 87-86 loss to the Chicago Bulls is also their fifth loss in six games.

In Entertainment News…
Apple Inc. Ipad 2 will be available at Best Buy on March 11, 2011 after 5pm. There will no longer be a pre-order system for the Ipad 2.
